1.2 Source of personal data

(a) Current students / prospective students / graduates. YPAS collect directly from you or indirectly from a parent or guardian, while you, your parents or guardians send the application form, questions, or registration forms through various ways, including online, a copy of the hard copy or via cookies that may be collected via usage of YPAS’s website.

(b) Parents / guardians of current students / potential students / graduates. YPAS collect your personal data directly from you or indirectly from your child / dependent, when you submit the form, questions or registration forms through various ways including, online, a copy of the hard copy or through cookies that may be collected via usage of YPAS ’s website.

(c) Client / clients or prospective clients / customers for services, conferences, seminars, or other activities that we organize. YPAS collect personal data directly from you when you express an interest in being contacted for such events and marketing activities. Information may also be collected through trade directories / online or via cookies that may be collected via usage of YPAS ’s website.

(d) Seller,supplier, contractor orservice provider. YPAS collect your personal data directly from you or indirectly from your employer or credit reference agencies during tender or submission of quotation in commercial transactions. Information may also be collectedthrough trade directories / online or through cookies via usage of YPAS ’s website.

YPAS will also obtain the consent of your parents, guardian or someone who has parental responsibility for you if you are under eighteen (18) years old.

(2) Purpose of collection and processing further of your personal data

Your personal data is collected and further processed by YPAS as required and permitted by law, including for the following purposes: -

• Maintenance of student records (including personal data, academic or further training) and academic or training process management (e.g., program delivery, academic audit or training, examination boards, transcripts and awarding of diplomas and certificates)

• Management of student services including the provision of learning resources andfacilities, student accommodation, transport, immigration, care, and welfare services.

• Operation of alumni including fund-raising and alumni activities and the provisionof alumni interest.

• Provision of advice and support to students (through immigration services, studentservices, student accommodation services, counseling services, student clubs orassociations, career services, training or other industry involvement).

• The provision of extra-curricular activities (e.g., student leadership programme, student ambassador programme, career development programme, etc.).

• Management of fees and student loans (including management and administration of student loan account) or processing of scholarships, payment, credit reporting and debt recovery.

• Carry out of survey and analysis.

• Internal and external audit or disclosure or any other functions required to be complied in accordance with the law.

• Administrative and any commercial transactions authorized or directed by the Government or YPAS.

• Receive and obtain further information regarding any complaints.

• Process any collaboration applications with YPAS.

• Others.

(3) Disclosure of personal data (inside and outside Malaysia)

Your personal data will be collected and processed by YPAS and may be required or need to be disclosed to a third party (within or outside Malaysia) as follows: -

• Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran, related departments/agencies, and statutory authorities
• Other education institutions
• Relevant professional body
• Scholarships sponsors and prizes
• Student bodies (such as the association of students and alumni)
• Embassies
• The agencies of law enforcement
• Company / organization that provides training programs and career opportunities
• Company / organization acting as our service provider (such as lawyers, auditors,printing companies, telecommunications companies, contractors, conference, insurance companies, company secretaries and others)
• Company / organization that help us process, administer and / or deliver the services you have requested

YPAS will ensure that: -

i. Access to your personal data is limited to employees of YPAS where such accessis required to process your personal data in accordance with the requirements of each task.

ii. In case your personal data is required by any authority for a purpose permitted bylaw in writing, YPAS is obliged to disclose your personal data to the necessary in compliance with the obligation of law.

4.1 Links to other websites lain

YPAS provide links to other sites for your convenience. However, the websites may have its respective privacy statement. YPAS suggest that you review any of the websites that you visitvia the link. YPAS is not responsible for the content or usage of such websites. .

4.2 Cookies

Cookies may be used in the processing of your personal data. Cookies are text files that are placed in computer memory and / or device to our computers. A copy of the text file is sent by our computer and/or your device when you communicate with ourservers. We also may collect the following information when you visit our website and/or fully qualified domain originating from you when you access our website, or alternatively, your IP address: - :
